Archeology of Memory: Dear Memory
Layouts of Dear Memory.
The project, Archeology of Memory: Dear Memory is about recording my special and important memories from the objects that I used to have in my lifetime. A total of ten objects in the different periods of my life is selected, including the diary, the MP3, the home key, the suitcase, etc. Among all of these, the red diary is the most noticeable item since writing the diary is one of my most important hobbies. I always enjoyed writing down my murmurs and ideas by hands before bed because it certainly helps reflect the day. In the case, I conducted all the contents in this booklet based on how I wrote in my diary.
Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are used together for this project. Illustrator is used to sketch out the outline of these objects without leaving the brush tool off the page, then I colored only little part of them in Photoshop. Afterward, before I layout the graphics in InDesign, I have drawn them on my notebook to examine the pages to see the interaction and connection of individual pieces. Minimal style is used, but I used the color of red, yellow, and blue to represent the emotions of “a child” when she was secretly sharing her murmurs with her little red diary.
